DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Feb. 10, 2012) - Daytona State College presents the following calendar of events for March 2012.
Events are open to the public and free of charge, unless otherwise noted.

Microsoft Project 2010, Level 1
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this course is designed for a person who has a general introductory level understanding of project management concepts and basic end-user skills with an current Windows operating system. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: identify the basic features and components of the Microsoft Project environment, create a new project plan file and enter project information, manage tasks by organizing tasks and setting task relationships, manage resources for a project, and finalize a project plan.
The course fee is $195 and includes a student workbook and Knowledge Pack.

InDesign, Level 1
In the deadline-driven office, you don’t have time to experiment with your designs. Daytona State College’s Adobe CS5 courses offer the perfect medium for you to learn new creative tools and techniques and develop new ideas on how to implement your creativity. More importantly, learn how to inject more fun into what you love to do! InDesign, Level 1 - students will identify the various elements of the InDesign interface, design documents, enhance documents with formats, color and styles, work with page elements, manage objects, work with tables and finalize documents. The fee for this one-day course is $97 per participant and includes a student workbook and Knowledge Pack. This is a hands-on course and each participant will be provided their own computer.

Word 2007, Advanced
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this one-day course builds on the skills and concepts taught in Word 2007: Intermediate. Students will perform mail merges, create and use forms, and create master documents that include a table of contents, a table of figures, footnotes, endnotes, an index, bookmarks, cross references, and Web frames. They will also create macros, customize the Quick Access toolbar and keyboard shortcuts, and work with XML documents. The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class. The deadline to register for each course is one week prior to the course date.

Access 2007, Advanced
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this one-day course builds on the skills and concepts taught in Access 2007: Intermediate. Students will learn how to query with SQL; create crosstab, parameter, and action queries; create macros; import, export, and link database objects; work with XML documents; work with Windows SharePoint Services; optimize databases; password-protect and encrypt databases; set Access options and properties; create hyperlink fields; and use Outlook 2007 to update data. The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class. The deadline to register for each course is one week prior to the course date.

PowerPoint 2007, Basic
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this one-day course covers the basic functions and features of PowerPoint 2007. Students will create new presentations that include text, graphics, WordArt, tables, charts, and diagrams. They will also edit and format slide content, and apply transition effects. The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class. Registration deadline: Nov. 16.

Dreamweaver, Level 1

Dreamweaver, Level 1 - students will identify basic Web design concepts and customize the Adobe Dreamweaver interface, build a website, design Web pages, create reusable site assets, work with different types of links, upload a website, and work with framesets. To ensure success in this course it
is helpful to have a basic understanding of Web design with XHTML, HTML and CSS. The fee for this one-day course is $97 per participant and includes a student workbook and Knowledge Pack. This is a hands-on course and each participant will be provided their own computer.

PowerPoint 2007, Advanced
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this one-day course builds on the skills and concepts taught in PowerPoint 2007: Basic. Students will customize PowerPoint by modifying the Quick Access Toolbar and creating macros. They will also apply themes and templates, and they will work with SmartArt graphics and tables. Students will add multimedia content and interactive elements to slides, and they will learn about presentation distribution options including PDF and HTML. Finally, students will integrate PowerPoint with Word and Excel. The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class.
