Yes, you can get federal assistance. You have to apply for financial aid at our Financial Aid department.
Q. Can I take some classes to upgrade my skills? I already have a degree.
Yes, upto 15 hours
Q. I would like to know a little more about computers. Do you offer some basic computer classes?
Yes,
- CGS 1060(3 credit hours), (Basic) Requires Lab
- CGS 2100(3 credit hours), (A little more advanced)
- CGS 1002(1 hour) (Basic)
- CGS 1570 (1 hour) (Basic)
Q. I am in the Computer Support Specialist program? I don’t see the EEV classes from the website. What do I do and what classes do I take?
You can take some college credit classes that would substitute for your EEV classes. These are some substitutes for the EEV classes. You can also talk to Mr. Pivec(Assistant Chairperson) or Mr. Paul (Chairperson) to get class substitution at the end of you degree completion.
- EEV 0532C can be substituted by CET1178 with CET1178L (A+ Hardware)
- EEV 0539C can be substituted by a co-op/on the job training
- EEV 0552C can be substituted by CET 1600
- EEV 0565C can be substituted by CET2154 (A+ Software)
- EEV 0612C can be substituted by EET1011 with EET1011L and EET1021 with EET1021L
Q. Do you offer a computer repair class?
Yes,
You can take the A++ certification test after completing the class. Please come by the Computer Science Department or call 386.506.3087 to pick up a discount certificate.
Q. Does the College assist me in finding a job?
Yes, we have career placement department and coop/internship programs that can help in job placement.
Q. I have taken a class in some other college. Do I get credit transferred from that class and how do I do that?
Yes. Have your official transcript send to our Records department. You can also call Mr. Paul at 386.506.3324 if you have more questions.
Q. I have to take CET 1036C. I don’t see the class in the website. Are you not offering the class anymore?
Yes, we offer the class.
The class was a 6 credit hour class. It is now broken down into two parts EET1011 with EET1011L (no prerequisite) and EET1021 with CET1021L (EET 1011 and MAC1105 are the prerequisites)
Q. According to my schedule, I am supposed to take CET 1153C, I don’t find it any more. What do I do?
CET 1153C is no longer offered.
You can take CGS2100 which would substitute for CET 1153C. If you have more questions, you can talk to either Mr.Pivec (Assistant Chair, 386.506.4134) or Mr. Paul (Chairperson, 386.506.3324) for course substitution.

Yes, you can talk to the Assistant Chairperson or the Chairperson for more specific information and suggestions.
Q. I have been already working in the industry in the networking field. I want to take some advance classes to get certified. Can I take some networking classes? What do I need to take?
Yes, It depends on what kind of skill set do you have. You can talk to Mr. Pintello (Assistant Chair, 386.789.7318) or Mr. Paul (Department Chair, 386.506.3324) for more clarification.

Yes, we offer a class "Introduction to Web Programming", CGS2820, No prerequisites. The introduction to web programming class would teach you the skills to create your own web page .
