
DAYTONA MOTORSPORTS SUMMER ACADEMY 2010
Rising 8th through 12th grade gifted and high-achieving students are invited to participate in the Daytona Motorsports Summer Academy presented by the Center for Community & Professional Education at Daytona State College and funded by the Governor's Gifted Summer Program. Participants will gain a solid foundation in building and racing skills through an interactive remote control car program to demonstrate real-life applications of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
When: One week sessions, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Where: Advanced Technology College (ATC), 1770 Technology Boulevard, Daytona Beach, FL
Registration: Verification of Gifted or High Achieving Student Enrollment (school documentation)
*Registrations will not be considered complete without required verification documents.
Optional dual enrollement is available by signing up to take SLS1122 Student Success, 3.0 semester hours. This course is designed to increase student success through the development of academic life skills. Topics include study techniques, test anxiety, memory techniques and personal development. The course is available Summer Term, beginning July 6, 2010 through August 16, 2010, Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:20 p.m., Daytona Beach campus. Participating students must sign-up for dual enrollment by June 14, 2010 to complete the registration process.
