College Catalog - College Preparatory Program

The College Preparatory Program at Daytona State helps students develop the skills essential for academic success. The curriculum emphasizes reading, communicating and learning through writing, basic mathematical concepts and effective life and study skills. The College Preparatory Program consists of non-college credit courses in reading, writing and mathematics and two college credit courses, Intermediate Algebra and Dynamics of Student Success, both of which can be used toward the A.A. degree. Students who place into REA0007/0007L or REA0017/0017L are required to take Dynamics of Student Success, SLS1122, during their first semester at Daytona State.

For students, whose first language is not English, Daytona State offers college preparatory courses through its ESOL program in the Department of Adult Education.
