Daytona State College offers students who have declared Psychology as their major program code the opportunity to specialize in one of four different applied areas. These students can receive recognition for taking courses focusing in Marriage & Family (Relational) Psychology, Experimental & Research Psychology, Clinical & Counseling Psychology, and Developmental Psychology. Students who plan to major in Psychology at the baccalaureate level will be better prepared by taking courses in one or more of these focus areas. To receive recognition for completing a psychology focus area, students who have completed Introduction to Psychology (PSY1012) must complete nine semester hours of specific coursework in Psychology. Students who are interested in a Psychology focus area should meet with an academic advisor early in their tenure at Daytona State College to establish an academic plan that will ensure that all program requirements will be met. For more information on this program, students may also contact the department chair, Dr. Ron Morrison at (386) 506-3918, or the department assistant chair, Mr. Nick Petropouleas at (386) 506-3409.
